Le Coudray set for return

Le Coudray, runner-up to Anzum in the 1999 Stayers Hurdle at Cheltenham, could return to action at the weekend for new trainer Christy Roche.

JP McManus` ex-French gelding has been off the track since being turned over by Limestone Lad at Navan in December `99 when 4/9f for a 2m4f hurdle.

Roche has entered the seven-year-old in a beginners chase at Navan on Saturday and in a novice event over fences at Punchestown on Sunday.

'He has been with me just a couple of months and is in very good form.' said Roche of the former Aidan O`Brien inmate.

'He`s one of a number I have in the Irish Field Chase at Punchestown but I`ve also entered him at Navan on Saturday. Much will depend on the ground and opposition.'

Michael O`Brien is aiming recent Listowel and Limerick scorer Regal Venture at the Punchestown contest while Frances Crowley`s Goldnecu is another possibility.
