Maal provides Marnane with first Leopardstown win David Marnane trained his first winner at Leopardstown when Maal got the better of Shaimaa in the 1m2f Carrickmines Handicap. ´My last three runners here have finished second so it was great to finally win one here,´ said Marnane. ´We will put going over hurdles on-hold for the moment. Maal is a big genuine horse and is starightforward to train so I hope he can win another race or two on the flat.´ The runner-up, Shaimaa, would have preferred faster ground and will take her chance in the Ulster Oaks at Down Royal this weekend.
