Northumberland Plate runner-up Macorville is in jubilant form ahead of the £35,000 Skybet Silver Stakes at York tomorrow.

And unlike many, the George Moore-trained four-year-old is enjoying the unrelenting spell of bad weather.

'He's in great order. He loves the soft ground. Softer the better. At the moment I am very very happy,' said Moore.

'He just needs the ground on soft side to be at his best.

'He ran a great race at Newcastle. The ground was heavy on the day so it was perfect for him, and I'm hoping it will be the same on Saturday.'
