Mason faces inquiry Permit holder Norman Mason - and three of his jockeys - will face the Jockey Club`s disciplinary committee tomorrow over a controversial race at Bangor involving allegations of schooling in public. Ciaran Eddery, Calvin McCormack and Gerard Ryan were aboard the three horses who incurred the displeasure of the local stewards. The disciplinary committee will hold an inquiry to decide whether Eddery, the rider of Rakaposhi Raid, McCormack, the jockey of Red Mimosa, and Gerard Ryan, who was on Sabi Sand, committed breaches of Rule 158 of the Rules of Racing. The stewards will investigate whether Mason, who trains all three horses, has committed a breach of Rule 155(ii) of the Rules of Racing and Jockey Club Instruction H2 headed `Schooling in Public`. The hearing concerns the running and riding of the horses in the Wrexham National Hunt Novices` Hurdle Race at Bangor on September 15th. The matter was referred to the stewards of the Jockey Club by the Bangor stewards following their inquiry on the same day. At a separate hearing, the disciplinary committee will hold an inquiry to establish whether Helen Garrett, apprentice jockey to Richard Whitaker, has committed a breach of Rule 66(vii) of the Rules of Racing, concerning the analysis of a urine sample provided at the Northern Racing College on 21st May, which was found to contain amphetamines, a banned substance.
