Moloney bids for Saval Beg glory Red Moloney, who gave Yeats a bit of a shake-up on his most recent outing, attempts to add his own name to a distinguished roll of honour for the Seamus & Rosemary McGrath Memorial Saval Beg Stakes at Leopardstown tomorrow night. Dual Gold Cup winner Yeats claimed this Listed race last year and was made to work hard by Kevin Prendergast´s gelding in the Vintage Crop Stakes just over a month ago. Red Moloney steps back up to a mile and six furlongs to join other past winners like Dermot Weld´s Melbourne Cup hero Media Puzzle and Vintage Crop himself. "He´s in great shape," said Prendergast. "He´s come out of the race at Navan very well. "He ran Yeats to three-parts of a length there, which was no bad effort. We´re hoping for a good run." Seven others line up for the Saval Beg, with Weld relying on his old stager Mutakarrim. John Oxx´s Hasanka and the Jim Bolger-trained Ezima, a close fourth and fifth respectively to Regime in the Mooresbridge Stakes, also bring a high level of form to the table.
