Mot Juste falls short

Godolphin`s Mot Juste failed to shine by finishing seventh to Tweedside in the Grade Two Sheepshead Bay Handicap at Belmont on Saturday.

The Irish Oaks second challenged on the outside, but lacked a finishing kick and was beaten around four and a half lengths.

Tweedside, the Coaching Club American Oaks winner, held on to take the fillies` and mares` feature by a nose and the same from Sweetest Thing and Golden Corona.

Godolphin did not go away empty handed as Dubai Tiger won a nine-furlong maiden race on the same card.

The front-running Doc Holiday, formerly trained by Brian Meehan, captured the Grade Three Will Rogers Handicap by a neck at Hollywood Park the same day.
