Murphy eyes Galway Plate raid Ferdy Murphy has the Galway Plate in mind for Ernest William following the 10-year-old`s impressive victory at Market Rasen on Saturday. The Phardante gelding earned a tilt at the valuable handicap chase in July with a smooth victory over Forest Dante.'He`ll run at Perth next week then have a break before being brought back for the Galway Plate,' said Murphy this afternoon. But the Middleham trainer is worried about Ernest William`s jumping particularly at a higher level.'He needs to brush up his jumping before he goes to Galway. He was a bit novicey at Market Rasen and would not get away with that in the Plate. He`s going to undergo an extensive course of jumping,' added Murphy.
