National On Berry Agenda Connections of Bewleys Berry are keen to have another crack at the John Smith's Grand National in April. The nine-year-old contested the Aintree showpiece last season only to come unstuck at Becher's Brook on the second circuit when still travelling well.Trainer Howard Johnson sent Bewleys Berry back over the National fences in the Becher Chase last weekend and after finishing a fair second to Mr Pointment, the main event is now on the agenda.'He ran a great race, we put him in to see if his confidence was still there and he loved it,' said owner Graham Wylie.'He didn't really like that ground (good to soft), he prefers it better, but he wasn't beaten that far and he was beaten by a very good horse.'We are hoping he'll be fit and well for next April. The National is his main aim now, I don't think we'll see him now before the weights come out and hopefully they won't put him up too much,' he told Racing UK.(C) PA Sport
