Navan Given The Go-Ahead

This afternoon's fixture at Navan will go ahead as scheduled after the course passed a precautionary inspection.

Officials had been positive regarding prospects, but felt it prudent to take a look following the recent spell of inclement weather.

Irish Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone said: 'Navan is fine and racing goes ahead.

'They've had a dry night and are expecting a dry day today and it is very windy.

'The ground does remain heavy but the track is perfectly raceable and there are no problems.'
