Newcastle abandoned Overnight rain has forced officials at Newcastle to abandon this afternoon`s National Hunt meeting.An inspection was called for 7am this morning after water began to appear on the track yesterday.Clerk of the course James Armstrong explained: 'We`ve had to abandon.'We`ve had another 4mm of rain overnight, which we didn`t want.'It is waterlogged in places with false patches of ground and we can`t take the chance I`m afraid.'
