No joy for Holland or Kelly

Darryll Holland will miss the mount on second favourite Faithful Warrior in Saturday`s randombet.com Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster after failing to have a one-day ban overturned today.

Holland left an hour-long inquiry at the Jockey Club`s London headquarters without comment after his appeal over a one-day suspension for careless riding at Southwell last week was turned down by the disciplinary committee.

Holland has now incurred a total of 32 days of riding bans over the past 12 months.

Shane Kelly also lost the chance to partner the favourite Adiemus in the Lincoln after failing in his appeal this morning.

Kelly, who was hoping that the Jockey Club might reduce his three-day ban for careless riding at Southwell last week, said: 'Obviously I`m disappointed, but that`s racing.'

Adiemus, who continued his winning sequence by taking the Winter Derby at Lingfield last Saturday, is not yet certain of a place in the Lincoln line-up.

The Jeremy Noseda-trained horse needs four rivals above him in the weights to be withdrawn at Thursday`s declaration stage in order to run.
