November Return Planned For Southwell Following a thorough investigation, officials at Southwell racecourse are hopeful that racing will resume at the venue in November this year.Both the track and buildings were recently hit with severe flood damage and while a full clean-up operation has now begun, better weather is needed before rebuilding can commence.Arena Leisure's Racing Director, Ian Renton, said: 'There is a lot of work to be done to both the buildings and the track.'But the investigations of the track show that the damage to the track is far less extensive than previously thought.'We will therefore be able to repair the fibresand surface and are optimistic that we can be racing there by early November.'All the fixtures up until the end of September have been transferred and we will shortly be reviewing the October and early November dates.'(C) PA Sport
