O'Connell picks up two day ban The Stewards interviewed Mr. Brian O'Connell, rider of the winner, Caim Hill, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed the video of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. Brian O'Connell had used his whip with excessive frequency and they therefore suspended him for 2 racedays (dates to be confirmed by the Turf Club).
