Optimistic Navan Call Precautionary Check

Officials at Navan will stage a precautionary inspection at 8.00am ahead of racing on Saturday.

The course passed an initial inspection today and while prospects are currently looking very promising, groundstaff feel it prudent to take stock in the morning.

Irish Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone said: 'They've looked today and found the track to be raceable, although the ground is heavy.

'In view of the weather we've had they have decided to hold a precautionary look in the morning.

'The weather forecast suggests we'll have two or three dry and windy days, which would be great, so the inspection is really just in case that forecast is wrong.'
