Paddy makes chasing bow

Forpadydeplasterer makes his eagerly-awaited debut over fences in the Panoramic Restaurant Beginners Chase at Punchestown tomorrow.

The six-year-old was a top novice over timber last season, winning the Grade One Deloitte Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown and finishing fourth in the Ballymore Properties Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

'We're very happy with him. He's been back since mid-July, he's done loads of schooling and had a couple of racecourse schools and all went well. Davy Russell rides,' said Tralee trainer Tom Cooper.

'I'm starting him off at two miles. I did the same over hurdles with him last year as well. It will be a test but heavy ground at Punchestown is not as bad as at some other courses.'

'We'll just play the trip by ear and take it one step at a time. I have got a race in mind for him after this but I don't want to jump the gun,' added Cooper.

A maximum field of 18, plus three reserves, has been declared for the Punchestown heat including three from Arthur Moore' stable - Hidden Agent, Major Sensation and Stewarts House.

Other rivals include Noel Meade's Narquois and the Dessie Hughes-trained Fond Of A Drop.
