Paul Townend Whip Ban The Stewards interviewed Paul Townend, rider of Dane Aire, concerning his use of the whip in the 2nd race at Fairyhouse. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and also from Pat O´Donnell, trainer, representing the riders master Willie Mullins. Having viewed the video of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Paul Townend had used his whip with excessive force and suspended him for one race day. Furthermore he was instructed to attend RACE for one day´s tuition on the use of the whip.
