Peace Targets Listed Glory

James Unett is hoping Symbol Of Peace can pick up some valuable black type when she steps out of handicap company into Listed class on Saturday.

The four-year-old goes for the intercasino.co.uk Snowdrop Fillies' Stakes over a mile at Kempton after gaining a narrow victory in a Class Five handicap at Nottingham on Wednesday.

That was her first success on turf as her previous two career victories from a total of 17 starts had been on the all-weather surface at Wolverhampton during the winter.

'We are there to take a chance. If we got a bit of black type out of her we would be delighted,' said the Shrewsbury-based handler.

'She won yesterday off 74 so you could say for arguments sake she is an 80-rated horse with a penalty.

'As far as Listed races go, on ratings it's not the strongest ever race. It's on the all-weather, it is for fillies at this time of year and at least this filly is in form.

'She goes on the surface and it's the same surface at Kempton as it is at Wolverhampton and it's right-handed and that should help her.

'If I don't run her, obviously there would only be five runners and I might look back in a couple of months and think I wished I'd run her.

'She will stay in training this season and then she will probably go to the paddocks next time round.'

Opposition includes course-and-distance Listed winner Dont Dili Dali and Expensive, who defeated the classy Flashy Wings as a two-year-old.
