Pearl heads Hennessy eight

Florida Pearl, winner of the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup for the past three years, is among eight five-day entries for the feature event at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The 10-year-old, trained by Willie Mullins, showed he was as good as ever when taking the Pertemps King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day,

Florida Peal defeated his stable companion Alexander Banquet by two lengths in Ireland`s prestigious three-mile chase 12 months ago and a rematch is on the cards.

'They are both in good form,' said Mullins this afternoon.

Alexander Banquet was third to Foxchapel King in the Ericsson Chase on his seasonal debut in December.

There are two British-trained horses left in the race _ the 2000 Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Looks Like Trouble and the Henry Daly-trained Behrajan.

The eight are completed by the Ted Walsh-trained pair Commanche Court and Rince Ri, Sackville and Lyreen Wonder.

The Ferdy Murphy-trained Truckers Tavern is the only British challenger among 11entries for the Dr PJ Moriarty Novice Chase.
