Pedro Primed For Navan

County Hurdle winner Pedrobob is due to make his eagerly-awaited debut over fences in the Conway Group European Breeders Fund Novice Chase at Navan this weekend.

Tony Mullins' nine-year-old, who capped a memorable week for Champion Hurdle-winning jockey Philip Carberry in the final race of the Cheltenham Festival, is already 12-1 joint-favourite for the Arkle Trophy with Cashmans

'It looks like we are going to go for the winners chase at Navan,' said Mullins.

'We were just afraid that if they got a full field for the beginners chase at Punchestown he would have a bit more room at Navan.

'He is fit and well. I'd say that having his first run in a winners race might be a bit to ask but if he pops around nicely and is in the firing line I'd be very happy.

'It looks likely to be a good race and it might be just above him at the moment, if he'd had two runs I'd be happier.

'If the unbelievable happened he is in the good novice chase (Durkan New Homes Novice Chase) at Christmas and if not he'll run in a beginners.'
