Peeress Bows Out

Dual Group One winner Peeress has been retired to the paddocks following her disappointing show in the Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes last Saturday.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained mare finished out the frame for the first time in 18 races when only sixth behind Red Evie, prompting connections to call time on the six-year-old´s career.

Chris Richardson, managing director of owners Cheveley Park Stud, told the Racing Post: 'I think it was right to take another chance on her this year but she just didn´t sparkle as we had hoped at Newbury and so we´ve decided to call it a day.

'Peeress owes us absolutely nothing and has been a great servant to the stud, and hopefully she will do just as well in her new career.'
