Phillips denies move plans

Richard Phillips today scotched newspaper reports that he has purchased a farm near Stow-on-the-Wold in Gloucestershire where he will move after his tenure at Jackdaw`s Castle comes to an end.

The trainer has to leave his current base next month, having been there for just a year, after owner Colin Smith sold the stable for a reported stg£4million to JP McManus.

But Phillips maintained today that he has still has options to explore before signing up for a new yard, despite the pressure of time starting to run out.

'The farm at Stow-on-the-Wold is certainly an option but that`s all it is and I`ve not signed anything,' he said.

'I`m amazed by the report and I think it would be optimistic to say that I would definitely be moving there.

'I`ve been to look at the place but nothing has been decided.'
