Pipe Out To Fuel Cambridgeshire Dream

Pipedreamer bids to strengthen the Cambridgeshire hand of John Gosden in the John Smith's Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.

With Escape Route leaping to the head of the market for the first leg of the Autumn Double after his victory at Goodwood over the weekend, a good performance from Pipedreamer could see Gosden tighten his vice-like grip on the race.

Fresh from the Classic success of Lucarno, Gosden could also saddle top-weight Sunshine Kid. Muajarred, Greek Well, Seabow and Font are other interesting contenders.

Totesport spokesman Damian Walker said: 'Gosden's Escape Route is by far our worst Cambridgeshire result at this stage having been a 20-1 shot this time last week, but Pipedreamer has also been well supported and there wouldn't be much between them in our Cambridgeshire betting were Pipedreamer to win on Saturday.

'Pipedreamer is our 6-1 clear favourite for Saturday's big race and, although he has gone up 9lb for his last win, he has the look of a very progressive horse.'

John Smith's Stakes; totesport bet: 6-1 Pipedreamer, 8-1 Greek Well, 9-1 Font, Mutajarred, 10-1 Cabinet, Monte Alto, Mr Aviator, Peruvian Prince, Seabow, 12-1 Heaven Knows, 14-1 Lundy's Lane, Tears Of A Clown, 16 Bolodenka, Impeller, Sunshine Kid, Very Wise, 20-1 bar.
