Queen Anne Stakes on Tariq´s Agenda

Connections of Tariq are to give the Queen Anne Stakes "very serious consideration" after the four-year-old made a pleasing return to action at Newbury on Saturday.

The Peter Chapple-Hyam-trained colt, winner of the Group Two Betfair Cup over seven furlongs last summer, was an unlucky-in-running third behind Creachadoir in the Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes.

That performance has put him in the frame for the Group One contest on the opening day of Royal Ascot on June 17.

"Peter and I have agreed to give the Queen Anne very serious consideration," said Tony Nerses, racing manager to owners Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar.

"I think he is a Group One horse, he proved that on Saturday. If he had a clear run he would have finished much closer.

"He´s bouncing and has come back in great form. I think the race will bring him on as I don´t think he was quite 100 per cent fit. I was over the moon with him."
