Quick steps out of Guineas

Quick To Please was the most notable withdrawal at today`s confirmation stages for the Sagitta 1000 and 2000 Guineas.

The Henry Cecil-trained filly had been quoted at a general 16-1 chance for the 1000 Guineas after an impressive win in a Doncaster maiden on her only start to date.

But connections have run out of time with the daughter of Danzig.

Teddy Beckett, racing manager to owner Khaled Abdulla, said: 'She`s fine but because of the cold, wet spring it`s just really a case of the Guineas coming too soon for her.'

A total of 19 fillies have been left in Sunday`s Newmarket Classic including Godolphin`s Muwakleh and Tempting Fate, who are due to arrive at Newmarket from Dubai today.

Champion Irish trainer Aidan O`Brien has left Imagine, Love Me True, Sequoyah and Toroca in the #300,000 contest.

The other overseas entry is Stunning from Criquette Head-Maarek`s Chantilly base.

Sir Michael Stoute has Enthused and ante-post favourite Karasta still in the race.

O`Brien is also responsible for five of the 24 confirmed entries for the 2000 Guineas the previous afternoon, headed by Middle Park Stakes winner Minardi.

Rumpold, the only horse to defeat Minardi, is one of three Godolphin entries. The others are the unraced Devine Task and market leader Tobougg, the intended mount of Frankie Dettori.

John Gosden has confirmed the entry of Free Handicap winner Clearing, who is also owned by Khaled Abdulla. But the colt is not certain to be in the line up on Saturday.

'We are also considering the French Guineas for him and a decision will be made in the week,' added Beckett. 'All is well with the horse.'
