Racing Post founder dies Graham Rock, founding editor of the Racing Post, died last night after a long illness. He was 56.Rock, who worked for Timeform and the Sporting Chronicle in the past, was most recently writing for The Observer and had been a member of the BBC racing team for several years.He was also a successful owner, with his colours carried most notably by the Sir Mark Prescott-trained 1997 Magnet Cup and Cambridgeshire winner Pasternak.And he was agent to Michael Roberts when the South African won the British jockeys` championship in 1992 with 206 winners from a record-breaking 1,068 rides.It had recently been announced that Rock was to be awarded the George Ennor Trophy for lifetime achievement at the Horserace Writers` and Photographers` Association lunch on December 10th.
