Rain Forecast For Doncaster Raincoat remains on course for the Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster on Saturday week after pleasing connections in a piece of work at the weekend.John Gosden's three-year-old is set to tackle 14 furlongs for the first time as he has a second outing in Classic company this term.A winner at Epsom earlier in the season and second to Authorized in the Dante at York, Raincoat was unplaced in the French Derby and finished out of the frame in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood last time. However, connections believe the Barathea colt will handle the extra distance and anticipate a better show at Doncaster.'The plan for him is still to go for the St Leger. He worked on Saturday and it all went very nicely,' said Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager for owner Khalid Abdullah.'It was a muddling race at Goodwood last time, an unsatisfactory race I would say. He ran well enough but it was just a bit muddling.'I think he would stay the Leger trip. I know everyone says that before a race but I can't see a reason he would not stay.'(C) PA Sport
