Raven's Handed Dewhurst Pass

Raven's Pass will step up to Group One company for the first time in the Darley Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on October 20.

John Gosden's unbeaten juvenile created a huge impression when slamming his rivals by seven lengths in the Solario Stakes on his last start, propelling him to the forefront of the betting for the 2000 Guineas.

John Adger, racing manager to owners Stonerside Stable, is excited by the prospect of taking on the best two-year-olds around.

'From what John (Gosden) has said recently I think he is leaning more towards the Dewhurst,' said Adger.

'Initially we were thinking about the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Grand Criterium) on Arc day but the Dewhurst looks the one now.

'John wishes the Dewhurst was a little bit earlier but he will run there and that will be it for this season.

'The only thing is with the Dewhurst not being until the end of October there is no telling what the ground is going to be. We wouldn't be keen on running him on really soft ground.

'It would be really exciting to run him in the Dewhurst as that is a championship race.'
