Redback shocks in Solario Redback dented a few reputations when landing the Ford Solario Stakes, the feature event at Sandown`s Variety Club meeting today.The 14-1 shot, by far and away the most experienced member of the 10-strong field having already had six races in his short career, was sent into the lead by Jimmy Fortune with over two furlongs to travel and quickly scooted away to land the Group Three contest by four lengths from Tholjanah.Unbeaten Godolphin youngster Dulcet Spear and James Given`s highly-regarded Mr Sandancer both ran abysmal races, finishing second-last and last respectively.Redback`s forthright success was made all the more meritorious by the fact that he was giving weight away all round.'He`s a tough little thing,' said trainer Richard Hannon, who also landed this race 12 months ago with King`s Ironbridge.'I expected him to run well but I didn`t expect him to do that!'We`ll have to look at the Racing Post Trophy for him now - he`s had seven races but there`s no point wrapping him up in cotton wool.'There`s a bit of cut in the ground which I think has helped him.
