Rochelle to return at Curragh

Rock Of Rochelle could make his seasonal reappearance in the Bank of Ireland Business Banking Loughbrown Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

Trained by Andrew Kinsella, the promising colt has not been seen since finishing seventh in the Middle Park as a juvenile and holds entries in the stanjamesuk.com 2000 Guineas as well as the Boylesports-sponsored Irish equivalent.

"He was cast in his box and had an inflamed hock a bit before the Middle Park and he just didn´t engage at the business end of the race," said Kinsella.

"To be fair to the horse, that wasn´t his running, he never really travelled great but he looks to be in great nick.

"But we had a bit of a virus a little while ago and we had been looking to go in the Guineas Trial at Leopardstown yesterday.

"We´ve decided to put him in a seven-furlong Listed race at the Curragh on Sunday.

"He may not be at his absolute best but if we have any intention of following up on some of the entries we´ve made then we need to get him to the track."

Rock Of Rochelle has never raced beyond six furlongs but Kinsella is confident he will get the mile at three.

"We tried him before the setback earlier in the year and we were pleased to see he was getting the mile and doing it well," he added.

"He´s coming into form and if he improves all the week and stays the way he is going we´ll run. He´s wintered extremely well and improved.

"He´d want to improve a lot to get to Newmarket mind, and I think Myboycharlie and New Approach are the strong ones in there."
