Runner-up Conquest to be aimed at Arc Dermot Weld nominated the Arc as the target for Irish Derby runner-up Casual Conquest following another big race second for the Rosewell House operation. "It is very frustrating - we have been second in five Group Ones now," admitted Weld. "I knew he was after improving but I didn´t know how much he had improved. He beat Tartan Bearer and ran a great race. I was delighted with him but he just met one too good. "The Arc has always been the race I´ve had in mind for him for a long time. He could run in the Irish Champion first." Sir Michael Stoute was unhappy after seeing Tartan Bearer pushed wide at a crucial point. He said: "We were carried halfway across the course and it certainly didn´t help. "He (Alessandro Volta) pushed on and onto us and that didn´t help." Fran Berry, rider of Curtain Call, was equally disappointed, adding: "Alessandro Volta took me out of the race. "I was going to be involved and he had really taken me there." However, trainer Cumani was more philosophical after the unfortunate incident. He said: "He was interfered with by Alessandro Volta when he came wide and we were in full flow at the moment and lost momentum. "I?m happy with the way the horse ran, though, and while I don´t think he would have won, he ran well enough to suggest he deserves to be in this class."lass."
