Sam Thomas Takes Wrong Course

Gold Cup winning rider Sam Thomas was hit with a 17-day suspension have taken the wrong course aboard 2/5 favourite Oumeyade at Fakenham.

Thomas was given 14 days by the stewards for taking the wrong course and a further 3 days for careless riding.

He is the second jockey to make such an error at the track this year. Irish jockey Denis O´Reagan received a 14-day ban for a similar offence in january.
