Sharleez bounces back to land pot Sharleez bounced back to form to land the ?100,000 Jordan Town & Country Estate Agents Summer Fillies Handicap at the Curragh for John Oxx. The Aga Khan-owned filly failed to shine in two starts earlier this season but had shown connections improvement recently after a break and ran out a convincing winner. Mick Kinane sent her for home a furlong-and-a-half out and she galloped on resolutely to hold the determined challenge of Almass by three-parts-of-a-length. "She was a promising filly last year and won her first start easily. As usual you feel obliged to try a classic trial but she ran poorly and was a bit disappointing," said Oxx. "She was a bit backward then, however, and not thriving. We gave her a bit of a break and she has thrived in her coat. We were expecting a big run. "She´s rated 94 and will probably go up to the high 90s for this so we´ll take our chance in Listed company now. "This is a nice prize to aim at if you think you have a filly that likes this distance." Impossible Dream produced a tough front-running performance to land the opener on day two of the Irish Derby meeting. Pat Smullen always had his mount to the fore and he went clear over a furlong out for a convincing win. "Pat gave him a fantastic ride and I couldn´t be happier," said winning trainer Andrew Kinsella. "He´s probably running in around his mark and likes this ground. Hopefully we´ll get him back on the track soon." Kinsella was full of praise for winning owner Tommy Quinn, who owns Her Diamond Necklace Farms. "He has been a great owner for me. He has 16 horses in with me and has given me a great start."
