Silent Honor out of Guineas

Godolphin`s Silent Honor has been ruled out of the Sagitta 1000 Guineas at Newmarket a week on Sunday, it emerged today.

The daughter of Sunday Silence was generally a 14-1 chance for the fillies` Classic and the Dubai-based organisation will have to rely on Kazzia if they are to have a runner in the Rowley Mile feature.

A statement on the Godolphin website said: 'Silent Honor was today ruled out of the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket due to an epiglottic entrapment.

'Godolphin`s filly worked well over six furlongs at Al Quoz this morning but a subsequent routine endoscopic examination revealed this condition. The surgery to correct this is a simple procedure and the prognosis is excellent.

'It is hoped that Silent Honor could take part in the Irish 1000 Guineas at the Curragh on May 26th.'

Silent Honor won her first two starts as a juvenile when in the care of David Loder, including the Cherry Hinton Stakes, before being beaten into third behind Queen`s Logic and Sophisticat in the Lowther Stakes.
