Hey Bob was a winner of two bumpers since the catalogue was printed and William Codd paid € 20,000 for its three year old full brother (Lot 1025). Earlier in the day Philip Dempsey secured a three year old gelding from the first crop of Churlish Charm (Lot 1001) for € 17,500. Commenting on the overall sale Goffs Chairman Eimear Mulhern said: 'We have been very pleased with the sale throughout, with the better individuals selling really well at every level. Goffs share of the National Hunt store market has grown from 18% to 34% in recent years and we especially appreciate the support of vendors whom we are committed to working with in future to further develop and grow the market for National Hunt horses. The June National Hunt Sale has established an excellent reputation for producing top class racehorses at commercial prices and this was reflected in the volume of trade with all the major purchasers represented over the four days. Markets tend to fluctuate and correct based on supply and demand and this was reflected in the slight drop in aggregate. However the clearance rate for the past four days is approaching 70% and the significant rise in average price over the first three days goes to show that the market rewards the better individual at all levels.' Aggregate for the week was just under € 10,100,000. Average was € 17,469 whilst the median was € 12,000. Three lots realized € 100,000 or more and these were headed by the Sleeping Car gelding (Lot 195) that sold for a record breaking € 150,000 on the first day.
