Song Waits For Chariot

Soviet Song will bypass a trip to Ireland in favour of waiting for the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes later this month.

The six-year-old mare, who disappointed in the Celebration Mile, was entered for Saturday's Coolmore Fusaichi Pegasus Matron Stakes at Leopardstown.

However, trainer James Fanshawe has opted to sidestep that race and prepare his charge for the Newmarket event on September 30 instead.

He told the Racing Post: 'Soviet Song will not run in the Matron Stakes.

'We are going to wait for the Sun Chariot at Newmarket.'
