Spendid set for return Alan King`s smart chaser Spendid could return to action, following almost a year on the sidelines, at Cheltenham next month, it was revealed today. The English trainer is aiming the nine-year-old, who has not been seen out since pulling up in last year`s Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup, along with stable companion Good Time Melody at the Stg£50,000 Intervet Trophy on November 17th. King said: 'Spendid is a possible again for the Intervet Trophy and it is certainly a target. He had a few niggly problems after the Hennessy last year. However, he`s enjoyed a long break and is currently in good form. 'He won around Cheltenham as a novice and is a better horse going left-handed. 'Good Time Melody is another possible for the Intervet Trophy and he won twice last season and then again in May. He`s had a nice summer break, is in good form and should be ready to run at the end of the month.'
