Theatre Script set for return

Vodafone Derby fancy Theatre Script is set to make his seasonal debut at Newmarket a week on Friday, it was revealed today.

The three-year-old is reported to be coming along nicely at trainer John Gosden`s Manton base, having won his only start at two, a Doncaster maiden.

Owner Robert Sangster`s son, Ben, said: 'The horse seems well in himself and potentially we are hoping that he could run next week at Newmarket in the mile-and-a-quarter Listed race (the Green Ridge Stables Newmarket Stakes).

'We`re not looking further forward than that at this stage but he is a nice prospect.'

Sangster also responded to speculation that operations at Gosden`s stables might be affected by new British Horseracing Board guidelines, preventing trainers whose yards are within a kilometre of a confirmed case of foot and mouth disease from racing for at least 30 days from the date of the outbreak.

'We`ve certainly no affected areas nearby and there is no problem with the livestock here,' he said. 'As far as I know things are absolutely fine.'
