Three Irish in King Edward VII Stakes John Gosden´s Bronze Cannon features among a fascinating nine-strong field set to go to post for the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot on Friday. The Lemon Drop Kid colt has won his last four races and proved too smart for subsequent Derby fourth Doctor Fremantle earlier in the season. Of the eight horses taking him on, an interesting form line will be represented by the Michael Jarvis-trained All The Aces. After winning at Leicester on his reappearance, he went on to get within half a length of Doctor Fremantle in the Chester Vase. After witnessing Sir Michael Stoute´s charge run so well at Epsom, connections elected to stump up #20,000 to supplement their improving youngster. Jarvis said: "We´ve been pleased with him and it was obviously encouraging to see Doctor Fremantle run such a good race in the Derby. "Until then he was seen as a high-class handicapper but he now has a very high rating. "Our options with him have been a little limited as a result and it´s a good prize at Ascot so we´re having a go. "We had discussed the race before the Derby and we thought that if Doctor Fremantle were to run well we would probably supplement." Bronze Cannon and All The Aces will come up against Godolphin´s Campanologist, third in the Lingfield Derby Trial last time, and the Brian Meehan-trained City Leader. Stoute will be represented by Conduit, an emphatic six-length handicap winner at Epsom earlier in the month, while Andrew Balding´s Top Lock will also run. Irish eyes, meanwhile, will be focused on Aidan O´Brien´s Hebridean, Dermot Weld´s Winchester and the Kevin Prendergast-trained Moiqen.
