Tipperary To Inspect 9am Thursday

Officials are optimistic Thursday's meeting at Tipperary will go ahead ? although a second inspection has now been called for 9am Thursday.

More than 50 millimetres of rain fell over the weekend but the track got the thumbs-up from the inspector of courses on Tuesday afternoon.

However, further rain is forecast overnight on Wednesday which could still threaten proceedings, with the going officially described as heavy.

A precautionary inspection has now been called for 9am on Thursday and, as a further precaution, the safety limit for some of the races has been reduced.

'The two seven-furlong races will be restricted to 14 runners and the three hurdle races will have a maximum of 16 runners,' added Irish Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone
