Tiutchev remains Cheltenham possible

Tiutchev may yet make the final line-up for the Queen Mother Champion Chase, as he continues his recovery from a third bout of colic within a year.

He has been left in the Stg£220,000 contest at the forfeit stage and trainer Nicky Henderson revealed today that he expected to know soon whether Cheltenham would be a possibility for the nine-year-old.

His 2000 Arkle Trophy winner, who almost died of the illness last summer, has been treated at the Royal Veterinary College in Potters Bar since the weekend but is due to return to Henderson`s Lambourn stable tomorrow.

'The vets are pleased with him and we`re looking forward to having him back,' said the trainer.

'We`ve left him in the race because we just don`t know where he will be at when he comes back.

'We will train him as the vets suggest and try and get him ready but it depends how he has taken his experience.

'It could be two, four, six weeks before he is there but he is very easy horse to read and I should have an idea pretty quickly of how he is.'
