Tiznow may retire to stud

Dual Breeders` Cup Classic winner Tiznow may be retired to stud rather than bid for a remarkable hat-trick next year, it emerged today.

Immediately after his nose defeat of Sakhee at Belmont Park last month the four-year-old`s connections were plotting a tilt at the 2002 running of America`s richest race at Arlington.

But majority owner Michael Cooper, who also ruled the horse out of a possible run in the Clark Handicap at Churchill Downs on November 23rd, revealed that future plans for Tiznow are now up in the air.

'I`m going to Kentucky Friday to talk to some people,' he told the Blood-Horse. 'There are six or seven farms interested in him, and several of the people I have a lot of respect for.

'I feel it`s in our best interest to at least listen to them. You have to separate your emotions from what`s right from a business sense.

'On one hand, I`d still love to win the Hollywood Gold Cup and Pacific Classic but there`s also something to be said for going out a winner.'
