Tizzard responds well to treatment Jockey Joe Tizzard is responding well to treatment on a spinal injury sustained in a fall at Hereford on Tuesday.Tizzard was operated on at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry which specialises in back injuries yesterday and his boss Paul Nichols stated the rider was lucky to escape paralysis.Nichols said at Wincanton today after Kadarann had taken the General Dynamics UK Novices Chase under Timmy Murphy: 'That one was for Joe!'He would have ridden the horse as he has done all season and we are all hoping he makes a full recovery from the injuries he sustained in the fall.'I am told nine out of ten people who have that injury end up being paralysed but luckily the prognosis from the hospital is good and he should be OK after having two screws and a bone graft on the vertebrae.'
