Tobosa Misses Out

William Jarvis has suffered a blow with stable star Tobosa, who has been forced to miss an engagement in the St James´s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot on Tuesday.

The Tobougg colt rattled up a hat-trick as a juvenile and was only beaten a short-head by Prime Defender in the European Free Handicap on his first start at three.

He disappointed in the 2000 Guineas but bounced back to his best when turning the competitive Silver Bowl Handicap into a procession at Haydock.

Jarvis recently committed him to Ascot´s Group One event in preference to the Jersey Stakes, but a dirty scope has ruled him out of the Royal meeting.

'He gave a dirty scope this morning and won´t be able to fulfil his engagement in the St James´s Palace Stakes,' said Jarvis.

'It is very unfortunate for all concerned with the horse but I´m confident there will be other days to look forward to with him in the near future,' he told his website, www.williamjarvis.com.
