Transcend Ready To Lord It Once More Lord Transcend is on target to bid for back-to-back victories in the Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock on Saturday. The imposing nine-year-old made a creditable return to action at the Merseyside venue in December, almost 12 months after his win in the Grade Two contest. 'He´d been off a year because he´s a very fragile horse. He´s worked though and he worked great. At the minute he´s on target for the race on Saturday,' Johnson told At The Races. The key to the horse according to his trainer is soft ground and that is one thing that will definitely be in his favour as he bids for more glory at the weekend. 'He´ll love the testing ground because he´s got fragile legs,' continued Johnson, 'He´s in the Gold Cup with a few more of mine but I don´t think he´ll go to Cheltenham. He wouldn´t get his ground for a start.' Johnson revealed Lord Transcend had met with another little problem since trying to give two stone to Captain Correlli in the Tommy Whittle. 'He´s had a poisoned foot which is why he´s been off but he´s been on a course of anti-biotics and it´s cleared up well. He should take his chance on Saturday,' said Johnson.(C) PA Sport
