Tregoning fillies ready for Epsom test

Marcus Tregoning reports both Esloob and Shadow Dancing to be in good shape ahead of their respective tilts at the Vodafone Oaks on Friday.

The Lambourn trainer would appear to hold a strong hand in the Classic with Esloob, winner of the R L Davison Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket on her only start this season, the more fancied of the pair at a best priced 8-1.

Shadow Dancing staked her claim for an Epsom start when taking the Cheshire Oaks and she remains a 14-1 chance with most firms.

Tregoning is satisfied with their progress over the last few weeks and he is hopeful of top performances from both fillies.

He said: 'They are in great form and I`m very pleased with the pair of them.

'Richard Hills rides Esloob while Martin Dwyer will ride Shadow Dancing. They both go there with chances of good runs.'

But the filly that has been well supported today is Sagitta 1000 Guineas heroine Kazzia.

Godolphin`s former German-trained filly has continued to attract some good money and both William Hill and Coral have shortened her to 7-2 from 4-1 in response.

Despite the support Sir Michael Stoute`s Islington remains the 11-4 favourite with Quarter Moon, a best priced 9-2 shot, the most fancied of Aidan O`Brien`s five possible contenders.
