Triple attack from Pipe

Martin Pipe is set to be three-handed in the Royal & SunAlliance Novices` Hurdle at Cheltenham on Wednesday.

The champion jumps trainer has won the two miles and five furlong contest twice in the past with Sayfar`s Lad (1989) and Regal Ambition (1990) and this time hopes to run multiple winner Classified as well as Tarxien and Samon.

'Tony McCoy will be on Classified for David Johnson, while Rodi Greene will ride Tarxien and we`ve booked Mick Fitzgerald for Samon,' Pipe said.

England`s champion trainer has snapped up Irish rider Barry Geraghty to partner Riyadh in the JCB Triumph Hurdle - other plans in the race have yet to be finalised.

Looking at his other Cheltenham hopes, Pipe said: 'We still don`t know who will ride Shooting Light and Cyfor Malta in the Gold Cup, or who will be on Wahiba Sands in the Champion Chase, with Tony riding Edredon Bleu in that race.

'I have three possibles in the Champion Hurdle now - Valiramix, Rodock and Mr Cool.

'Mr Cool is also in the Arkle, where we run Seebald and possibly Royal Auclair.'

Pipe could saddle four David Johnson-owned horses in the Coral Eurobet Cup on Wednesday, namely Magnus, Stormez, Golden Alpha and Ideal du Bois Beury.
