Twice Over out of Guineas Connections of leading stanjamesuk.com 2000 Guineas fancy Twice Over have ruled the colt out of the Newmarket showpiece. Henry Cecil´s three-year-old is unbeaten in three career starts and won the Craven Stakes last week, beating Raven´s Pass. However, owner Prince Khalid Abdullah has decided not to tackle the mile Classic on Saturday week. In a statement, his racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe said: "After consulting with Henry Cecil, Prince Khalid has decided that the colt will miss the 2000 Guineas and run in the totesport.com Dante Stakes at York with a view to going to the Vodafone Derby." Twice Over won over 10 furlongs as a juvenile and Cecil sprung a minor surprise by bringing him back to a mile for the Craven. His victory over the second-favourite for the Guineas forced connections to seriously consider a run at Newmarket but the French Derby has also now emerged as an alternative option. "If after the Dante it was thought that the colt would not stay a mile and a half, then the Prix du Jockey Club would become an option," added Grimthorpe. "The decision was taken with the colt´s long term future in mind."
