Walsh Back At Thurles

Ruby Walsh is set to gain some much-needed match practice at Thurles on Sunday, although he has no booked rides as yet.

The meeting is the last chance the Irishman will have to get back in the saddle competitively before the busy Christmas period.

Walsh has been out of action since mid-November when he dislocated his shoulder in a fall at Cheltenham.

He missed the victories of Kauto Star in the Betfair Chase and Denman in the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup, but will return in time to ride the pair in their forthcoming respective assignments in the Stan James King George VI Chase and Lexus Chase.

Walsh's sister and agent Jennifer said: 'Ruby will be riding at Thurles, but what he will be riding I don't know at the moment.

'Entries have only just been made in Ireland and a lot of the horses entered at Thurles are also in other races over Christmas.'
