Wanango Team Consider Options

Connections of Wanango are considering races at Sandown and Doncaster on Saturday for the promising chaser.

The seven-year-old, owned by JP McManus, has entries in the totecourse to course Handicap Chase at Sandown and the Williamhill.co.uk Handicap Chase at the South Yorkshire track.

He made an encouraging return to action following a near 11-month absence when runner-up on his handicap bow at Fairyhouse early last month.

'I'm going to talk to Frank Berry (owner's racing manager) about it later on. We haven't made a decision yet,' said trainer Tommy Stack's son and assistant, Fozzy.

'He's in at Sandown and Doncaster. We'll have a look at the weights first.'

Stack reports Perce Rock, who also carries the McManus colours, to be back in work following his second successive fall at Leopardstown two weeks ago.

'He was fairly stiff and sore after but he's back now,' he continued.

'We'll see how we get on with him in the next three or four weeks and see where we are going with him. We'll play it by ear ? he'll tell us when he's ready.'
