Weld´s Carribean fourth in US Oaks Dermot Weld´s Carribean Sunset finished fourth in American Oaks at Hollywood Park yesterday behind winner Pure Clan. Carribean Sunset was settled into mid-division by Pat Smullen and by the time she found room to challenge, the leaders were long gone. The winner, ridden by Julien Leparoux, was fourth as the field turned for home but found an extra gear and moved into the lead to clinch victory from the fast finishing Satan´s Circus. Clearly Foxy and Garrett Gomez came third, while Annie Skates, representing Jane Chapple-Hyam and John Egan, failed to fire and finished down the field.
